Filipino for Kids Summer 2011: Session 1 [June 18]
During the first session, we learned the following:
• Overview of the Philippines [history & culture & language]
• "Masaya kung Sama-Sama" song
• Introduce self: Ako si ___________
• Greet through the song with motions: "Magandang umaga po!" [tanghali, hapon, gabi]
• Legend of the Ampalaya [Legend of the Bittermelon]
• "Bahay Kubo" song
• Show & Tell & Feel: Bahay Kubo veggies

HOMEWORK for next session:
• Sing & memorize songs: Masaya Kung Sama-Sama; "Magandang Umaga Po!," "Bahay Kubo"
• Color your Philippine map
• Finish coloring your Bahay-Kubo vegetable
• Read & do your reading log & weekly book report

• Learned about Escrima
• New songs: "Paa, Tuhod, Balikat, Ulo" [parts of the body song]
"Isa, Dalawa, Maraming Baka" [number song]
